Jerry Dyer (JD)

Jerry has always had a deep rooted love for both Military and Civil aviation.

He was born in 1963, when the Jet Age was growing in strength, with classic retro jets like the 707, DC8, 727, DC10 and Tristar gracing our skies.

As a kid he went to the biggest UK air shows with his Mum. “Memories of the Vulcan, Phantom, Lightning and other classic fast jets howling down the crowd line will stay with me for ever”

“My dear old Dad was a Pilot back in the day, flying the Constellations with Skyways of London and with British Eagle on the Britannia. He even did a spell with Saudi Arabian Airlines on their classic 747-200 in the early 70’s before his last command, flying the DC8-54 Freighter with IAS in the late 70’s. I was lucky enough to fly with him on the jump seat many times, leaving some great memories and firmly cementing my life-long love for Aviation”.

Since starting the Channel back in 2016, with his extensive marketing and media background and having successfully scaled businesses, Jerry has grown Big Jet TV into a global phenomenon and internet sensation, with now a fantastic community of Members from over 64 Countries.

Big Jet TV is a full-time operation: when they’re not live, every working hour is committed to bringing you the very best in Live Aviation content: meeting and liaising with Industry folks, creating relationships with International Airports, hunting-down new and exciting locations as well as creating Post-Production content, Show Promos, Channel updates and handling the endless Company administration. It really is a full-time operation.

Working with Filming Partners, Big Jet TV are able to deliver the very best live coverage from exclusive locations. With no less than five locations around Heathrow, they’re always able to bring you the best action from the UK’s Busiest airport: from Hotel roof locations to right under the landing Aircraft.

MEMBER-ONLY SHOWS

As well as regular (domestic) shows from UK locations, your Subscriptions mean we can travel each month to Europe and further afield.

For all our members, we visit a European location every month, bringing you shows from Airport locations such as Frankfurt, Schiphol, Dusseldorf, Munich, Cologne, Zurich, Dublin as well as the Airbus facility in Toulouse France.

We also travel long-haul once a month with our First Class and Superclass Members. Streaming from major hubs like Los Angeles , Miami, Chicago, Boston, New York and even as far North as Anchorage, Alaska and now to the far east Narita, Japan. These shows are exclusive to Members, with no Freeview, unless we’re given special access, in which case we’ll ‘split’ the streams.

MILITARY SHOWS

We also stream live from UK Fighter stations RAF Coningsby and RAF (USAF) Lakenheath as well as their Sister station RAF (USAF) Mildenhall. We also visit Museums and go behind the scenes with Industry and tech for ‘alternative’ and educational content.

TECHNICAL DELIVERY

Gilly Prestwood is Big Jet TV’s Technical Livestream Director and a permanent member of Staff. Gilly has been a keen AvGeek since a young age, with memories of visiting Leeds Bradford with her Dad in his Robin Reliant, seeing the Wardair 747 up close from the hill at the end of the runway.

The art of livestream delivery is not as simple as some may think: there’s a tremendous amount of work that goes into delivering and maintaining a high-end, reliable feed.

Having extensive technical knowledge, Gilly is passionate about delivering a quality feed.  She also has the ‘quick fire’ ability to trouble shoot technical issues. Her many other technical attributes ensure Big Jet TV is able to remain the world’s most popular Livestream Aviation Channel.

Our channel is Family Friendly and, with Gilly leading a wonderful team of moderators on and off air, we are able to maintain a clean and friendly channel for everyone to enjoy.

THE BIG JET PRODUCTION TRUCK

Our Production vehicle is used not only for transporting equipment, getting me to locations and Meetings, but it also has a bespoke fabricated roof platform, allowing me to bring you those great ‘over the fence’ shots from our positions at both UK Civilian and Military airfields.
